Terraced Gardens

Terraced Gardens

A terraced garden layout that starts from sea level and extends upwards.

The terraced gardens of Beylerbeyi Palace maintain their standing as one of the rare examples of Ottoman landscape architecture. These gardens, starting from the Bosphorus shore and rising in graduated terraces, offer an enchanting atmosphere with their elegant pools, fountains, and centuries-old trees.

The original design included carefully arranged plant groups consisting of exotic plants in harmony with the general decor of the palace.

The palace's location close to the sea provides the gardens with an uninterrupted view of the Bosphorus.

Visitor Tip
